The Shoes to school project, as its first beneficiary chose Mdengelele primary school benefit from it. On the 21st of June 2016 at an event organised by the above mentioned school, 112 shoes were donated. From the 112 shoes donated 102 of the shoes were fit for primary school going children and the other 10 were adult sized shoes. It was therefore
decided by the community leaders that, since shoes to school was an initiative aimed at school children, the 10 shoes would be given to Mdengelele High School students who were in dire need of shoes.
As C.O.D .G.I we would be later notified of the outcome and the list of
the Mdengelele High school beneficiaries. The 102 beneficiaries of the project were all primary school pupils and were selected according to their need for shoes regardless of their intellectual capacity, gender, religion and culture. The objective of the project was achieved and the first donation has set a yardstick for the project’s beneficiaries to follow
